Our client is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence & Data Modeling Expert (m/f/d) to support the Business Intelligence team in the development and implementation of data-driven solutions. As a Business Intelligence & Data Modeling Expert (m/f/d) at our client, you will have end-to-end responsibility for data modeling in the area of Business Intelligence. You will be offered a dynamic work environment in which you can fully utilize your analytical skills. You will be part of a dedicated team working together to develop data-driven solutions and provide its customers with an optimal experience. Your tasks:
- You will use the concept of data modeling, build data models in the database (Snowflake), and use Kimball as a warehousing concept and Star Schema as a modeling paradigm.
- You will use CI/CD pipelines, professional software deployment processes, and GitLab to share code and optimize it together with the team.
- Gather requirements and identify potential areas in the business areas that can be realized through BI products and BI self-services.
- Independently assess the need for BI solutions from the business departments and derive data-driven solutions to optimize the performance and processes of the business units.
- Consulting, designing, and implementing KPIs, automated self-service BI solutions, including meaningful reports and interactive dashboards.
- Defining measures for implementing the BI strategy.
- Communicating and coordinating corporate standards across international companies.
- Creating requirements documentation (epics and user stories) as a basis for the product manager.
- Consulting, supporting, and facilitating the necessary decisions for the implementation of BI solutions.
- Coordination With the Data Platform team as part of requirements gathering (identifying data sources, creating, presenting, and adapting pilot solutions with IT)
- Management of BI sub-projects and initiatives
- You will be the contact person for the Product Owner and Data Platform team for the further development of the data warehouse and data lake
- Additional tasks as required

Requirements
• Successfully completed degree or MBA in business administration, engineering, or a comparable IT degree program
• You have a strong grasp of the concept of data modeling, have practiced data modeling in databases, and have already gained extensive hands-on experience in data modeling (Kimball as a warehousing concept and Star Schema as a modeling paradigm).
• Experience with modeling in Snowflake would be a huge plus
• You have already worked hands-on with CI/CD pipelines
• You should have extensive experience with SQL
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI & DAX
• You have proven experience with PowerBI semantic models, as well as with PowerBI datasets
• Experience and passion for e-commerce and retail, as well as an understanding and enthusiasm for customer needs and online business models
• In-depth professional experience in a similar environment
• Strong understanding of economic and business contexts and excellent analytical skills
• Passion and enthusiasm for working with data
• Agile mindset and the desire to work in a self-organized team
• Openness to unconventional thinking and innovative topics
• Very good English skills – confident in speaking and writing
• German would be a plus
